FrontPage Upload and download ---HELP

Hi: This problem is driving me crazy and I need some help! I work on a site
along with the owner of the company using fp 2003. He makes changes and I
download the changes to my computer. This usually works out ok. Here
lately, If he makes a few changes and I download those changes, to my local
from the server, the entire site wants to download which can take 5 hours.
He only makes a few changes so shouldn't just those changes download to my
local? Then when I go to upload, it wants to reupload the changes he made
back to the server (which is another 5 hours)?? I am so confused as to why
this happens when only a few pages were changed. I hope this makes sense.
This would not be so bad however, as I said, publishing this way will take
at least 5 hours to do since the site is very large.. We both have our
remote website properties set to PUBLISH CHANGED ONLY and under CHANGES is
set to USE SOURCE FILE TIMESTAMPS.........
Thanks for any insight to this problem.

5 hours? What do you have in there that takes 5 hours?

You might want to reorganize some of the larger but infrequently changed
files into a sub web. (Make a folder, drag and drop the files in so the
links update, then right click on it and go to "create sub web". After
that, you can publish only the frequently changed pages and leave whatever
humongous crap is in there alone.)

Or, just edit in the live web, and download when you don't have to wait.
I.e. edit, save, finish, then publish to your computer.

This is an easy to solve problem with a little change in your processes.
