FrontPage stuck on a sub-folder

G

Graeme Churchard

My web site (www.wega.org.uk) has several sub-branches - Lectures,
Excursions, Magazine, Reviews and Crosswords. Each sub-branch has a
plethora of pages. I have had to publish all these via Cute FTP as I
cannot use FrontPage Publish. When I start File/Publish Web I can get to
my ISP and navigate on the remote server, but I cannot get out of the
Excursions sub-folder on my computer! The up-arrow is greyed out.

Also, no matter what I do, when I do File/Open the window opens on the
Excursions sub-folder. From here I can navigate to all of my web but the
program seems to have a fixation on Excursions!

I hope it is something simple, but advice would be welcomed.

It sounds as if your host has mistakenly set your FTP home
directory to be your Excursions folder rather than your
true Web site home folder. You would need to contact their
tech support about this.

Looks like you have protected the folders or made them subwebs. Also, you should be able to use FP ftp. Check your host's control panel for file/directory assistance to change folder permissions.
