If you are asking whether you must place youir webs where those folders are,
or if you have the option of creating folders anywhere and using FP on them
.. .. then you will be happy to know that is what I do and that it works
reliably..
I have directories all over my hard disk. One is a device letter "G:/",
others are directories here and there. FP2002 works well with these.
The reason for using the device letter "G:/" for one of the webs is that it
allows me to use the "/" to relate all files ( even in sub webs) to the
folders and files in the root, just as they will be on the server. That is,
no mater what folder i am in, I can get to another folder by
"/hdr/buton_parks.jpg", rather than trying to use the "../" process.

Hi - I just got a new HP computer and am using Windows XP - I loaded in
Microsoft FrontPage 98 and 2002 thinking that originally I had bought an
update 2002 for the FP 98. In other words both programs were loaded into my
coputer. Tonight Uninstalled FP 98 (the 2002 was a complete program and
theefore 98 is not needed) and re-installed the FP 2002 tonight. I noticed
that it put FrontPage Webs under HP_Pavillion (C
; and in Program Files
under the C Drive it put Microsoft FrontPage, then the folder "Webs" which
is where I found my own web site folder. Should I leave the FrontPage Webs
in the HP_Pavillion - out there by itself? Thank you for your help, Chris
