Frontpage and Shopping Carts

Have a new client that wants to put a shopping cart on
his site. All the sites I have done before have been
rather simple and have not had to include these
features. Any suggestions for a add in shopping cart ????

What server operating system, and which technologies and databases (ASP,
PHP, Perl/CGI etc.; Access, mySQL etc) are supported?

For Windows servers with support for ASP and Access look at Candypress
(www.candypress.com) as a starter.

I have access to either MS servers or Unix will go with
the ms that supports access, asp, and mysql. I am not
familiar with programming so looking for a wysiwyg type
interface. Love Frontpage and the addins!!

Thanks,

To modify a shopping cart to suit your web site's layout and style will
require some knowledge of HTML, CSS and programming. I have not found any
that are completely WYSIWYG (as far as a web page can be WYSIWYG), but there
are lots out there that are definitely not!

For an Access database (requires a Windows server) Candypress is the easiest
to manipulate that I have found - the front end (the bit the customer sees)
is free, so it's worth a trial.

www.candypress.com has a cart that's pretty "skinable". it uses one single
file for the "template". it also uses an unusual way to call it into the
pages it's needed on.
