Frontpage and my Access Database

Okay, I have this access database on the web that is populated by the client. I want to use the information for mail merges into word docs. The problem is the only way I see I can get the information is by publishing the database from my remote to local. This is not a problem, but what happens when I need to change the status of an account or put in notes? If I publish from my local to the remote site, won't the remote database lose any new information clients have put in

What is the solution? Thanks

You can either publish the db down or you can use the Export function to place a copy on your
desktop. Once your site is live and you have user add to the database, you never want to upload your
local copy. If you need to maintain the live copy, then you need to create admin pages, you have
this option under FP2002 and FP2003.

If you need to make changes to your database structure then you will need to shut down the site or
the pages that allow users to add content. If you are using forms to allow data to be added to the
database, all you have to do is only the live site, then the form, select the submit button, and
change it properties to from Submit to Normal while you work on the database.

Okay great...
But what if I want to change or add a relationship in a table or some other structural thing? The
"Synchronize" option when publishing will not protect the live DB?

You are welcome.

...you never want to upload your local copy...

I just found that out the hardway :-)
