Access database on Frontpage

Sophia

Hello Everyone:
Could anyone advise me on how to put a report with photos from an Access
database (MS Access 2003) on Frontpage? I have researched this and now I
have information overload and I am not sure where to go.

The database is for an animal shelter and I want to post pets available for
adoption on the internet. The information will be updated every day.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Stefan: I followed the steps in the link, but cannot get the sample to work.
The "favouriteImage" in the example shows as an "x". Any help would be
appreciated.

Sophia:

That article seems to be missing an important step: you need to import the
images you want to use into the images folder in your web site.

Thanks for the reply Kathleen. The sample web site template includes the
images already, so I guess that is why they didn't mention it in the article.
So, that is not my problem. Any other suggestions?

Are you creating this locally (on your PC) or on your live site? If it's on
your PC, are you running IIS on Windows XP Pro? If on your live site, can
you post a link and we'll take a look.

I finally got it to work! After looking at other forums, I copied the
database to the "inetpub" folder created by IIS (Internet Information
Service) and set up a virtual directory in the IIS default website folder to
point to the database in the inetpub folder. Then typed the virtual
directory alias into the Internet Explorer, which called up the website.
Eg....http://localhost/AliasName

Is there any other way that someone is aware of?

You could use a System DSN, however some people claim that it creates a slower connection.
