Frontpage 2003 vs 2002

Carol

I am a college student and am studying Frontpage.
I recently purchased Frontpage 2003 and the college is
using the 2002 version. My assignment wants me to go to
format-themes and says that a dialog box should open. I
get no dialog box when I go there. Where should I go?

Thanks,
Carol

I have a web page open and am creating it. The section I
am on in college is applying a theme to a web site. I
have created a page for Vail Valley Marathon as the main
page and then events, registration as parent page for
mail, online, and phone registration. I then have pages
for sponsors, last year and this year and it tells me to
go to format and click theme then all the pages. It also
wants me to click on the modify button, graphics, item
list arrow, banner and font tab. Since I can't get a
dialog box I am unable to do this.
Thanks,
Carol

OK.

When you have a page open and click Format and then Theme.. does it give you
a list of themes to choose from in the right hand panel that opens??

I accidentally answered under a new post. Yes, the themes
come up on the right and I can pick a theme but I can't
do anything with it after that. My book wants be to use
the theme dialog box to do more things within the themes.
Thanks,
Carol

Carol:

When you are on the Format Theme dialog box do you see
anything on that box that looks like it would allow you
to "do more things within the themes"?

I could give you the answer but what would you learn from
that?

No dialog box comes up only the themes on the side. This
is where my problem lies. If anyone can help me I sure
would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Carol

I have run a few tests:

1. No Front Page web open

Click on Format|Themes. Themes dialog box comes up with
just a listing of themes on the left and a large blank
area where the sample of the themes elements are usually
displayed. I am guessing from your description that this
is what you are referring to in your question.

You do not have a web open (perhaps a page but not a
web). The "Modify" button (where you make changes to the
theme elements) does not get you where you need to go.
That button is clcikable but the other ones are not.

2. Front Page web open (File | Open web)

Click on Format|Themes. Themes dialog box comes up with a
listing of themes on the left and in the area to the
right a display of the themes elements. If you select one
of the themes from the list, click on the All pages
option button and click OK, you will apply that theme to
the pages in your web site. To modify that theme you have
click the "Modify" button which opens up some other
buttons which will allow you to make changes to the theme
elements.

I hope this gets you where you need to go.
