The link you posted requires a version of Office 2003. I have Office 2002
and just purchased FP 2003 Upgrade. I do not get a good manual or free
training. What a rip-off. I was expecting a manual similiar to the one I
got for FP 2000.

Thank you. I hope you are right. The site says you have to have Office
2003, not one of its apps. The software is in the mail. I do not have yet.

You don't even HAVE it yet and your complaining about the manual?

I asked about the manual because I could not find out what was included from
the Microsoft site and the good people in this discussion group have informed
me that you only get a 25 page manual versus the 300+ page manaul that came
with FP2000. I have every RIGHT to complain. Knowing it now or a few days
will not make it any better. I expressed valid concewrns as opposed to your
smart aleck useless comment.

I certainly agree that you have every right to complain. This is a major
gripe of mine as well. Microsoft isn't alone in this regard. Many software
companies short-change you on printed materials and opt for online or
in-product Help to make up for it.

I'd rather have it on paper, but give people a chance to save a buck and you
know what happens. It's just not cost-effective to print these materials
any longer.

Hey, I miss the big books too..but think how much more the software would cost if they still came with the big paper - of which 90% of the buyers don't bother to read anyway.

I hate not getting a big book with software...like I said in other post, I just bought QB Pro and it came with nothing but a teaser pamphlet. QB offers crap support too...but it's good software so I live with the fact I gotta buy yet another book.

Smart aleck response...maybe...but you're the one that posted this complaint numerous times here...like we can do something about it? No one here works for MS you know...were just volunteers helping each other.

That's true. Most of the time, a third-party book will be better for you
anyway. :)

I wouldn't say that! Plenty of folks around here who are Microsofties.

I couldn't agree more. often the people who design something are in the
arena of "they knew too much" whereas a person who had to learn something to
be able to write about it has a better chance of being able to explain it to
someone else.

You have the right to complain. We have the right to not care.
