frontpage 2003 upgrade

Ijust got a new computer with XP Pro and I want to install FrontPage 2003. I
bought the upgrade version because I had FontPage 98. When I attempted to
install FP 98 on the computer with XP Pro I got a message that system files
had been changed and I needed to insert the Operating System disk - nothing
happened. I called Dell and restored the system files back to the way they
were when I purchased the computer. Now I'm not sure what to do. Do I need
to install FrontPage 98 before I can install the upgrade version?

No - shouldn't have to install 98...

Try to install FP 2003 then when it tries to find qualifying software for the upgrade, you should be able to insert your old Frontpage 98 CD (if it was a full install CD..won't work if 98 was an upgrade)

NO!

Install FrontPage 2003..
It will look for a previous version and when it doesn't find it you will be
given the chance to look for it. (Browse) Insert your FrontPage 98 disk into
the CD Drive and point (browse) to that drive. It will find what it needs
and the continue with the install.

It does not matter if the FP98 CD is full or upgrade, as the FP2003 installer is looking for the
main FP application .exe file. If it mattered, then users with an FP upgrade version already
installed would not be able to upgrade.
