FrontPage 2003 Not remembering passwords for certain sites

FrontPage 2003 Not remembering passwords for certain sites. This happens even
if I have the "Remember my Password" box checked. All Autocomplete check
boxes are checked. And I don't want to put it in my trusted zone or change
the security settings since this is not where the problem is. When I use a
app to read the autocomplete information there is nothing for the site that
does not remember my password, but there are other ones there that so
remember the password. I have had this problem since FP 2000 on any OS and
many computers.

1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp
- in FP 2003 you need to look in the super hidden folder
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache
3) Then try deleting the site from My Network Places and re opening it in FP by typing the URL and re-entering the user ID and
password

You may still have to put it in your trusted places since FP uses IE to manage passwords

In my experience, FP2003 does remember passwords (actually IE remembers
them) but does not display them when connecting to a Windows server. When
connecting to Unix server, the passwords are displayed (as bullets).

The only workaround is to place the servers in the Trusted Zone.

you are correct IE does store them and on some it works while others it does
not. I am not connecting to a Unix server at all just windows. Some domains
work fine other do not.

Stefan,
Also I put my sites that were giving me problems into the trusted area and
have the autologin set but after a while working on the server it prompts me
for the username and password just once. So I would say that doing this work
around is not very effective.
