Frontpage 2002 video files

Geoff

Hi, I have been unable to get a video file working on my website. The
file is 15MB but apparently according to my host Fasthosts the problem
is with the coding on my webpage. All I have done is follow the
instructions for inserting video as instructed by the software.
Initially FP didn't copy the file to its own area within the FP web
which it would do with image files. So I copied it to the Images
folder. The video works with the Preview in Browser option but not
when uploaded -it took quite a while even with a broadband connection.
I have tried another of my websites using a smaller WMV file with
similar results. I have tried the embedded video option which works
with the smaller file and may work with the larger file but I think
the result is ugly..

Do other people insert videos without problems, and if so have you any
tips for me. The websites and pages are: http://www.xyznet.co.uk/
test.htm for the smaller video and: http://www.freshfordmill.co.uk/
Videos%20of%20Roads%20in%20Freshford.htm
for the 15MB file. In the meantime I'll alter the website page with
the 15MB file from an Insert type option to an embedded type.

thanks

The embedded video works on Freshford Mill website provided that it is
the default size 128 x128 I have tried altering the size to 320x240
with the player control hidden and only the sound works!

Works fine for me - the red car is driving on the wrong side of the
road...but the vid works :)

You may want to rename the video without spaces in the file name (they will
appear as %20), while you're at it stick to lowercase too.

Hi Rob,

Its working now after I deselected the hidden option. Thanks for the
tips! We don't have the luxury of having different sides to the roads
in Freshford, when we encounter another car we either go into the
hedge, stop and reverse, or get out and have a chat!

It must be nice living in a place like that (seriously).

Yes, it is, and the villagers would like to keep it that way, not only
for themselves but for everyone else who might like to experience an
exceptinally nice part of England. There are plenty of other places
that are capable of development without spoiling a special place. The
Freshford Mill site has been bought but the new owners now have to
raise the funds to actually develop it for housing. They have cast
their net wide, whether they will attract investors or not is partly
dependent on whether I can present opposition to the development. The
videos of the road system which still needs some more videos to
complete the survey should be up and running tomorrow. There is also a
letter to the PM posted at www.lettertothepm.co.uk

Best regards Geoff
