FrontPage 2002 modifies percentages to pixels

Paul McIlfatrick

Our web site is frame based and we have designed its pages
so that the central frame has a vertical scroll bar but no
horizontal scroll bar.

To achieve this effect all the widths of tables and
pictures on our pages are given in percentages. Making
changes to our pages is OK if we use a text editor to
modify the HTML code.

However, some of our team's less experienced members
prefer to use FrontPage 2002 to make a minor change to a
Web page but when they save the page FrontPage
automatically changes the widths of tables and pictures to
pixels!!

Is there any way to configure FrontPage 2002 so that it
will not automatically convert the widths of tables and
pictures to pixels and leave them as percentages?

Thanks

Do they all have their FrontPage set to preserve
existing html??
FrontPage Toolbar > Tools > Page Options >
HTML Source. Check the "Preserve Existing HTML"
Radio button and click OK

This normally happen when a user adjust the table or a cell width or height
by using the mouse.

This is exactly the problem that we are trying to stop! Because the new
people dont have the experience editing web pages, they are going to use the
mouse to drag table sizes bigger or smaller. This is when the widths in
pixels is added in.

What we are looking for is to allow them to edit the web page in this way
but, keep all measurements in percentage!

There is no way to stop it from happening.

Depending on what these new user are editing, you might consider have them
work on a page, then using the FP Include page to then include the content
into the table, etc.
