Frontpage 2002 - Default Discussion Forum "home" url

When you create a discussion group in FP 2002, by default it makes the "HOME"
URL index.htm. I can change the pages myself and enter a specific url. In my
case it is "main.htm"
However, when someone posts a new thread or reply it automatically creates a
new page such as 00000001.htm and creates the links in the thread and by
default specifies "index.htm" as the home url. How can I make it so when
someone posts or replies and the new page is created it uses "main.htm"?

Create your discussion group in it's own sub web and then, on the server you
would need to make the default document main.htm. The forum will use
whatever the default document on the web server is. If this isn't your
server you'll need to ask your ISP if they will change this.

On a side note, why not just leave it as index.htm? Is there a reason you
need it to be main.htm? Also, you should always put your discussion forum
in its own sub web so it doesn't get overwritten when you publish.

I remember now it asking me if I wanted to make it part of the current web
and assumed yes. I have a flash intro page that is the "index.htm" and by
clicking "skip intro" it takes you to "main.htm".
I am new to web building and am starting to understand why my hosting
company gives me 200 sub domains. I thought it was way too much now I know
why.
I guess I could just create a new sub and move the pages and change a few
links.

Never make a DW a part of you existing root web
- if your host supports subwebs always make your DW a subweb

PS
You can't just "move" the DW
You need to delete it and all traces of it (the _hidden folders for it) in the root web and then create a new one in the new subweb

FYI: A subdomain is not a subweb / subsite. A subweb/subsite is a function of the FP extensions.

So let me see if I got this right and THANKS for the heads up. I am
apparently confusing subwebs with subdomains.
I should re-create the entire discussion forum and make it a "subweb" within
the current web, correct?

For example, the web I use to build this site is in My Documents and it is
called "safetyweb". Withing safetyweb create a new folder/web and call it,
say, "safetyMB" for safety message boards.
Then all pages for the discussion forum should be built/saved/published from
that new web, correct?
