I recently had FrontPage 2002 installed on my PC. I am
running with Windows XP. I am having a problem with
editing web files stored on a network share. When I open
a .asp file to edit and I look at the POST method and
the "action=" statement following this it does not show
the file name as it should. Instead this information is
missing and caused a web page that I had modified to get
an HTTP 405 error. I can open an .asp file with a POST
method and "action=" statement, save it with a different
filename. Then when I use a compare utility against the 2
files, a difference shows up where the file I saved is
missing the file following the "action=" statement and I
didn't make any changes just did a save as.

In addition, when I save any of these files to the
network share drive an error message displays, "Server
error: There is no web named ".Z".". Z is the network
share that I mapped.

Any help with this problem is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Not sure about the first problem, but regarding the share, are you saving
directly to the drive:
z:\

or to a subfolder
z:\subfolder\

I don't know if FP even cares, but I've seen programs that have problems
with saving files to the root of a drive but work just fine as soon as files
are written into a directory. You may want to give that a try if it's
applicable.

Good luck!
