In the previous editions, the Calendars for Office products are all ActiveX
controls. This works great inside of Office documents, but it's not good for
the web. ActiveX controls in web browsers 1) only work in IE 2) are often
disabled by browser security settings. Previous versions of FP could embed
the Calendar control that comes with the shared Office files, but that
approach is limiting and usually takes more advanced users since they would
have to know how to talk to and control an ActiveX Calendar control through
script. For FP users who are working with ASP.Net, ASP.Net comes built with
a calendar control already that's easy to call through ASP.Net itself with a
line of code. Since FP is generally server-agnostic except for the
data-driven aspects, it tries to avoid adding features that a user may place
in their page or solution only to find out later that they can't use it in
their web site.

Hope this helps,

So is there a plan to do one for 2006 ? I use it for my church calendar and
can't do anything for January. If there is not going to be one for 2006 then
I need to look for one to keep my site current. Thank oyu for any info you
can supply.

I would suggest the you look for a alternative method, because no one here know if one will or will
not be provided.

Hi Roy, I use FP for my church's website also and had a similar problem.
Since I had used the 2005 FP calendar templet and wanted to keep the same
overall look, I just copied one of the 2005 months to a new page, deleted all
the verbiage, entered in the 2006 info. IO did this for all 12 months. It was
time consuming but not difficult. This allowed me to keep the same format,
but I did change the background colors to make the transition more clear.
After I had the new 12 pages in place I deleted the pages for the first 11
months of 2005. I was then able to link in the 2006 info. It is important to
delete and replace the month-to-month linkage at the top of each calendar
page so that the new calendar pages link to each other; otherwise the links
will try to work with the old deleted pages and you'll get an error message.
Publishing took more time than usual because of the number of pages to be
deleted, but it worked. The whole thing probably took me a good two hours to
do. See http://www.stpaul-florin.org/Calendar/calendar.htm Hope this helps.

You're welcome, and Merry Christmas to you as well. I'm glad I could help.
I've received such great help from this forum; it's a wonderful place to
share information. You're right, the 2006 FP template will probably turn up
over this next week. LOL
