Front Page 2002 opens index.htm as blank

Weird problem that's got me stumped! Whenever we open the Index.htm on the
mapped server drive, it opens as blank! When I copy the populated page back
into the directory (from a backup), it does the same thing again! It simply
won't open the page as anything but blank and the page size goes from 11KB to
1KB.
(Server extensions are installed and enabled)

Help!

Thank you,

Have you tried opening a page named index.html or default.html??
( or saving it with the html extension )
The default page in a web root "normally" has the .html extension.

If the server has the FP extensions, then you have to open it via http://servername or
http://ipaddress, not as mapped drive letter.

The default document name on a Windows IIS server is default.htm, default.asp, not index.htm, etc.

Yup. Doesn't matter. It doesn't like either one or even changing the name to
default.

Hmmm, the thing is, it used to work. It just started doing this a little bit
ago and now it's an issue. I try to attach to it via the http://10.0.0.2
address (of the server), but it doesn't like that either. Though I haven't
tried actually useing the server NAME yet... That might be an idea...

Well, that didn't work. Reinstalled Front Page, that didn't work... It's a
conundrum...

There's your problem -- FP is for designing and maintaining websites --
it was never intended as a condom...

laugh.Thanks
