From XP Home to XP Professional

I just upgraded from ME to XP Home addition and found out
that I should have chosen XP Professional. Should I
uninstall XP and then reinstall XP Professional or can I
just by the XP Professional upgrade and install it over
XP Home?

Any help would be great.

Why do you need Pro? The main reason for upgrading to Pro is to join a
domain

If you live in North America and Windows XP Home is retail, return it
to seller or Microsoft within 30 days:

Then Purchase Windows XP Pro.
If you do not have a qualifying OS, buy the full version, otherwise
buy the upgrade.
