I have a PackardBell ML65 laptop with Vista pre-installed, and i want to install XP but when i boot from the XP disc "Bllue Screen Of Death" comes and the computer restarst. dont know whats wrong. just cant find out how to get XP on it..

anyone help?

Hi hjaltioj, is there a reason that you want to downgrade to XP? That OS is getting quite old now, as Vista and Windows 7 have already been developed since then.

If you give us the BSOD error code and we can look it up :)

This is most common when....

You need to change the SATA mode in the bios.
XP is old and can't handle the chipset optimisations.
You'll also have to have the SATA drivers for it on a floppy and to provide them at the appropriate stage during install (it says to press a key if needed during the initial boot phase from cd)

Hope it helps.
