From Shared Mailbox

We have a shared mailbox for our team and we are on MS Exchange. When one of
us is in the shared mailbox and creates a message, the From defaults to the
user who sends the message. Even if we change the From, the recipient still
sees that individual as the source of the message.

Without creating a new profile just for the shared mailbox, what setting do
we need to adjust so that when an email is created from the shared mailbox,
the return address is the shared mailbox?

Logon to the group account. Give delegate permissions to the relevant users
as follows:
Tools > Options > Delegates tab > Add... > select user > give permissions as
appropriate Inbox in particular

Then put the group email address in the From field of an email.

Upon receipt of the email the group email address will be in the from field
until opened then the From field will say 'Users name on behalf of group
email address'

If you want the group email to be in the From field without the On behalf of
bit, you need to contact the Exchange administrators. As it is a security
setting.
