How could I do this.
I open power point and from power point I open a PP presentation.
I have the edit screen with the list of slides 1, 2, .... on the left
side of the screen and on the right is the selected slide.
I want to copy the selected slide and save it as a an individual jpeg.
Say I save it to desktop for example.

Thank You

Go to the File menu and choose Save As. For the file type, choose JPG. When
asked, choose to save only the current slide.

Save as. Choose jpeg type. Say OK then click on "This slide only" (or
similar)

Zebra,
Just do a File - save as, in the save as list at the bottom of the dialog
click on the arrow and select *.jpg, click save. PPT will ask you if you
want to save the current slide or all slides.

Just select "Save As" and select .JPG as the output type from the dropdown
file types Then select Current slide as your option.

SO far so good.
The image is saved with the black border.
Is there a way to save just the image or do I need to open a photo edit
program to crop out the black border.
For example I used PhotoHouse to open the image as the default program
to open image files and then cropped out the black borders.

Can this editing step be omitted by some machanism in Power Point?

Oh and thanks for the feed back

If it is the images in PowerPoint that you want to save, then publish your
presentation as a web page and all your images will be extracted and saved
as image files in a special folder. If it is the whole slide that you want
to save as an image, then the steps outlined earlier is the route to go. If
your image file fills your slide completely, then you should not get the
black border. I'm assuming that your slide background is black.
