My list of up updates from microsoft grows longer and
longer, i'm wondering if they are taking up a lot of
space on my hard drive and slowing my computer. I feel
obligated to download them, since they mostly refer to
security. Are they worth the hassle and space taken up?
Thank you for any info you can give me. DW

Yes they are worth the hassle. The space they take up is very small compared
to the size of modern harddrive. In general, they should not slow the
machine down.

Although they take up space, it's not a lot, and shouldn't be an
issue unless you are very short of space.

No. There's always a potential for a particular update to have a
problem and do this, but in general they don't.

There's no hassle at all, and, as I said, the space taken up is
very slight. I definitely recommend downloading the security
updates, but not all the others that may refer to situations
you're not in.
