Any suggestions on what to check for frequent, random freeze-ups?

Win 2000
5.00.2195
Service Pack 4

Bad/loose RAM/peripheral card/cable connector
Bad cable
Failing Drive
Corrupted driver/other software
Device manager
Event viewer
....

The devil is in the details. You provide none.

I have no details -- system locks up for no apparent reason. Reboot and
it's fine until next random freeze-up. Ontrack System Suite analysis
indicates no errors.  But I'll look into your suggestions.

Check that your CPU fan is OK and there is no caked dust on the heat
sink fins.

Cheers,
