Frequent system hangs

I just built a new system and loaded winxp. The system
has frequent hangs and then goes black. It immediately
comes back up with the same screen and works fine until
it hangs again. Any answers or suggestion would be
appreciated.

gee bill you think it might be the hardware or hardware

configuration and you should be troubleshooting that?
