French accents

Has anybody had success installing a French keyboard (via
Control Panel -- Keyboards)? I have done it in Win98 and
it works well, and is much better than the Alt+nnn method,
and works in all apps. But when I tried it on a WinXP
machine, it only gives me half the accents I need.
Anybody have any ideas?

Lewis ... have you selected French keyboard in Control Panel, Regional and
Language Options, Languages tab, Details button, Settings tab, add French in
'Input language' & French in 'Keyboard layout/IME'?

Not sure from your post if that's what you did but it should work ... if
not, what characters are you missing?
