freezing

I am having so much trouble with my computer freezing on
my while I am typing, especially when I'm on the
internet, either internet explorer or AOL. Is this a
hardware problem? I have to restart (hard start) my
computer sometimes 12 times in an hour b/c of freezing
and I'm doing disk checks each time with nothing coming
up.

This could be most likely because some driver is not
installed correctly or could be a hardware problem.

Did the freezing start after new software updates or new
software install, if so then you can disable the software
you installed and try.

Other possibilites would be to disable any virus software
running to see if it is causing the freeze.

DIAGNOSTICS:

You should run some diagnostics on your machine. Keep in mind that a
reputable computer shop can do a better job of diagnosing your problem. If
you detect no problems, this does not mean your hardware is necessarily
healthy. If you do find problems with these diagnostics, you can probably
believe the test.

You can download a disk diagnostic from the website of your hard disk
manufacturer. Since the test may be able to alter stored data, read the
instructions carefully before using.

Alternatively, a good computer repair shop can do these same tests for you,
and more besides (power supplies can be flaky, etc.)
