Freezing when trying to save as a movie file

I am fairly adept at using Movie Maker and had no problems. However, I am
currently converting analog video thru a Plextor convertor. I capture it in
DVDCreator and then import it into WMM--no problem. I do my editing and save
my projects--no problem. However, when I attempt to save my projects as a
movie file, everything freezes. I alt/control/delete and get out but I can't
burn my DVD until I author it in another program which requires, yep, saving
it as a movie file. I've contacted Windows, I've tried the company that
preloaded my programs, I've searched the web for results. Does anyone else
out there have this problem and perhaps figured a way past it? Thanks

Try saving a movie to your harddrive using only a small clip from your
captures to see if it works.
You didn't say how long the project is so I am guessing here but it may be a
resources problem which can easily be overcome by splitting the project into
segments.
I have a step-by-step howto for doing this on my website [Movie Maker ->
How-to -> Split a Project]

Thanks for the reply...however, it doesn't matter how small the clip is...it
still won't go. I have found however, that the Plextor convertor is NOT
compatible with Windows Media Center which is what I have on my
computer...does anyone know the implications of dual booting Media Center and
Windows XP onto the same computer???

The plextor captures files as mpeg1/2 or divx.avi, none of which are
compatible with movie maker.
The web pages I've seen say it comes with Ulead software which will edit
these files, why not just use that?
