Freezing Problem

Just over the weekend, I found my system began freezing up. I run Trendmicro
and Webroot software by viruses and spyware, and use Windows Defender to
manage my startup files. However, at just random times, it will freeze.

My system is about 5 years old, but I maintain it wel, and have never had
this issue. I've run about 10 different scrubber and sweeper programs and
have no viruses. My computer is not over-heating, and I am not running any
more programs than I have in the past.

What could cause this? The following is my hardware specifications.

Software issues could include:
* malicious software that is not detected by the scanners you have run
thus far
* you attempted to remove malicious software but did not remove it
completely and what remains is just enough to set off a scanner
* a rootkit, which is not detectable by antivirus or anti-spyware software

Hardware issues could include:
* problems with the electricity supplied from the wall socket
* failing PC power supply

If it is software based, and noone of the ten programs I've used can touch
it, what do you recommend?

I have been having the same problems and run SpySweeper along with Windows
Defender and eTrust Security Suite. I am using a Netgear wireless on the
computer that is having the most problems, and I found that I needed an
updated driver even though I purchased it only a month ago. I posted this
earlier and now I saw your post and am wondering if there is a problem
somewhere with the updating of the programs. I sent a copy of this to CA who
has eTrust and Microsoft got reports when I submitted them through the event
viewer. Tonight it seems to be working better.
One of my computers is having a major problem freezing up (the freezes that
you have to push the button on the tower to turn it off and then reboot
becuase nothing else works to unfreeze it), and one is having this problem at
times. I went into the event viewer through the Run box (eventvwr) and there
are errors posted around the time this is happening. The following are what
seems to be happening before the freeze:
12:29:49 pm- File C:/WINDOWS/InternetLogs/IAMDB.RDB was corrupt and has been
copied to C:/WINDOWS/InternetLogs/xDB59.tmp. File
C:/WINDOWS/InternetLogs/IAMDB.RDB was corrupt and has been deleted.

12:29:50 pm- File C:/WINDOWS/InternetLogs/IAMDB.RDB was corrupt, restoring
from backup C:/WINDOWS/InternetLogs/BACKUP.RDB

12:29:51 pm- File C:/WINDOWS/InternetLogs/SHERRY.lbd was corrupt and has
been copied to C:/WINDOWS/InternetLogs/xDB5A.tmp. Flie
C:/WINDOWS/InternetLogs/SHERRY.ldb was corrupt and has been deleted.

THe SHERRY is replaced with the other computer name, ZOE in the second
computer. Does anyone know how I can fix this recurrent problem? The True
Vector is the one that is doing this (eTrust Firewall). Are some of my files
missing or goofed up?
