freezes when searching web

I originally had IE 5.0 on my system and for whatever
reason, my browser has started freezing for a period of
about 30 seconds whenever I type a querry into a text box
and attempt to search the internet or any given site for
matches. To try to fix this problem I downloaded new
version 6.0 and installed it but I am still having the
same problem. I can click on links and type in URLs all
day long with no problem. What is it about doing a search
that makes my browser freeze like that? And more
importantly, what can I do to fix it?
