Freeze when connect.

Dear all,

Is there anyone know? When I connect internet to my ISP via ADSL modem, It always freeze for a while (about 5-10 minutes) then come back to working.

maybe its not your internet connection maybe it has something to do with
some certain start up program thats locking you up,,,,,,anyways if you
have cable you can click start,in the run command type in msconfig,once
u do that a dialog will come up click start up in the program,and remove
any start up programs that u dont need to run at start up,,,,and then a
pop up will will come up choose what u want after u remove most of your
start up files.....this will not remove the files just blocks them when
your pc starts,once you reboot this dialog will pop back up just click
dont show me this message again, hope this helps

Thank you so much MR Lol but I already do that . I try to find some programs
that conflict with my machine and delete it but it still freeze.

If you cant even uninstall programs the first thing I would suggest is do a
clean Windows XP install.
But you probably dont want to do that.
Run all spyware/adware programs you have. Many are suggested here. Run a
virus scanner. Run some sort of uninstaller program to get rid of all the
programs that wont uninstall. Im sure others have better suggestions
Also you might want to add some more information.
Does your whole computer freeze? or does Internet Explorer or your email
freeze? Or does your ADSL connection just simply not work for those 5-10 mins
and then work.

I'll tell you for my pc working step .
1. I double click Dial connection for connect internet.
2. Connection connect and verify username and password then move down to
right buttom of task bar.
3. Everything on taskbar cannot click or not respond when I move mouse over
on any buttom such as Quicklaunch, normally if I move mouse over Quicklaunch
It will show texttip or program name but it's not show any and not respond
when I click.
4. Icons on desktop I can click or double click but not responding from them.
5. After 5-10 minutes pass everything come back to working and every
programs that I call when it freeze then popup and run at the same time .

ohh ok so you are not on cable then of course msconfig will not
work..please try this program out........you will need winzip, if you
dont have it here is it ...http://www.winzip.com........



after u Install this program..You Will See Advanced Options,Click That
,Click Start Up Program Manager,And Check The Ones U Dont Need And Click
Remove Cecked,
