About 5 weeks ago my laptop started to freeze up when in
use. I thought it was due to my wireless network card,
but found out that it was not. I sent my computer into
Compaq and they reformatted my hard drive. The computer
came back to me and worked fine for a little while then
started to freeze again. The only thing I loaded on it
was Microsoft Office 2000 which was on the system since
October when I bought it. I have resent the system to
Compaq and they changed the ram but it still is freezing
on me. I am thinking it is in XP somewhere but am unable
to pinpoint it. Does anyone else have this problem

To troubleshoot this, go to Start/Run, type eventvwr.msc and press OK.
Click on the Applications and System menu items and look for any Red X error
messages that correspond to the time the freeze ups occured. Double click
the error message to see the details. On the details dialog box, there is a
small icon that looks like 2 text pages. Click this icon to copy the error
and paste it in a reply here.

.I recently installed a new hard drive in my Dell
Inspiron 8100 Lap Top, and am having the identical
problem.I am working along and all of a sudden the
computer freezes. This happens rendomly without any
notice or warning. I am very frustrated and can seem to
find no cause for this.>
