Freeze after startup

2000 Pro freezes for about 1 minute after completing
startup. Desktop normal, but cannot access any
applications/programs for a period of time. Once "freeze"
ends, everything operates normal.

HELP! Please respond direct.

Check with msconfig http://www2.whidbey.com/djdenham/Msconfig.htm which
services and processes are on startup. Try to disable services and reboot.
Possibly you can find out what is going wrong with a program.
