Hello there,

I can't seem to find this site can you recheck the url please?

I'd forgotten about this site. Another site that lists recommended
alternatives to payware in each category. Plus their own software which
I've found helpful.

xtort.net is the correct url but it seems there may be a dns issue at
the moment. Just keep trying :) It's definately a site worth checking
out.

Sorry about this folks, there is a major network issue going on; since
3pm EST today I have been down. I been lucky so far this year, but I am
trying to find more info.

All I could find was payware, with free trial or download.

Hummm, that's funny because I see quite a few well known freeware listed.
openoffice, 602pc suite, karens replicator, DFincbackup, pegasus, foxmail,
thunderbird, iscribe, axcrypt, syncback. I'm not saying there isn't payware
listed because many I'm not familiar with and I haven't checked out every
one. But I know for a fact there is freeware listed.

There is, but there is some trialware listed also.

Being a SysOp/webmaster of a freeware site myself, I know how it can easily
happen. It is a lot of work keeping the list updated etc

Many authors offer the first couple of versions as freeware and the switch to
the shareware model. When you have a list with 400 applications it is
immpossible to check every author site every day to keep up with it all... :/

I certainly can understand that, but the webmaster lists trialware and
demoware as being such. One of the criteria I for one use in order to
bookmark freeware websites is that they must be opposed to listing all
forms of non-freeware.

JMHO.
