Hi,
I have been using Tag And Rename for a few years now to sort my MP3s. It has
that nifty little trick of getting album information from freedb even if you
don't know the tracks or artist as long as the songs are in the right order.
It seems freedb is not being updated anymore. Are there any other databases
that will work with T&R (ver 2.5), or any free applications that can do the
same operation?

at the moment the software behind freeDB is not updated any more,
but the server is running and it still receives and delivers the
data you need. As long as freedb is not sold you can stick with
it with no problem, I don't think too many people will reconfigure
their software, so new albums will still be added to database. So
"freedb is still being updated".

freedb2.org may be an alternative (I'm still curious, what really
happened and what role the freedb2-author played), I for myself
decided just to wait what happens. If someone will buy freedb with
respecting the written receivables there may be no required change
for all the users around in the future.
