The terminology is usually:

alpha (pre-beta--early builds not usually widely distributed)
beta
gold, or final--distributed product.

Microsoft has announced that the capabilities in this beta will be available
without additional cost to licensed Windows users.
 
But there will also be an advanced edition with support for Central
Management and Group Policy Editor, more than what the average home or power
user might want.
