Free noise generator, for masking out distractions at the workplace

D

Daniel Polansky

Does anybody know of a free noise generator, for masking out
distractions at the workplace? I mean *free* rather than
shareware as I already know of a shareware one called
NoiseMaker 1.0, which is to be found at Simtel.net.
The required platform is Microsoft Windows.

Thank you.

There is something wrong with the link to visual orangator, it takes you to
a spam company which "demagnetizes" water for better health, etc..

Women are trained, from early youth, to be very convincing.
Men are trained in anger.
When anger meets strong conviction, Love is born.
The holy ghost rules the social world, it opresses natural people, creates
new created minds, new male minds and "awareness".

Reminds me of a news story I read a number of years ago. A lot of
white noise generators were being sold in Japan because the ladies
found it embarrassing that other women could hear them when they used
public toilets. The noise generator took care of that problem.

Just downloaded sereneinstall.exe from here, and it installs EasyMessage.
Every time. Don't understand.

Change the name of the file to sereneinstall.zip and open it with an
unzipping program.

Wonderful!

I am listening to the waves gently lapping against the shore as I type.
Hark, now a mountain stream.

Thank you.

One I don't see in their list of goodies.

I hate background (music?), usually louder than the narrator on
documentaries like found on discovery, history, etc channels.

Sometimes I add the closed captions just to see what they are talking about.
Directors are *not* the brightest bulbs on the set.

Will it do that?

I've tried all the other programs listed in this thread. THE program you
want is a terrific program called Aire Freshener created years ago by Peter
Hirschberg and available at:

http://www.peterhirschberg.com/mysoftware.html

He's discontinued development and support for it, but it's damn near a
perfect program anyway.

It's a big download for dial-up at around 13 megs, but that's because it
comes with a large number of soundscapes included. Ocean surf, fountains,
cricket's on a summer night, fireplaces, aquariums, heartbeats -- even the
bridge of the Starship Enterprise with the swish of doors and sensors
beeping!

What's nice about the soundscapes is you don't get the annoying repetition
that comes from short-sampled sound clips of the sort that come with the
other two programs listed. The sampled sounds here are long and they are
seamless.

There's more. . .

You can seperately listen to MIDI "wind chimes" that you can edit. You can
also combine these with any of the soundscapes, if you choose.

There's more. . .

Don't like any of the soundscapes? There's a module that allows you to make
your own. Several years ago I created one of traffic in the rain -- almost
hypnotic.

One of my freeware "hall of fam"-ers. . . Get it -- you won't be
disappointed

Okay, but the 2.00b7 version is not named "Visual orangator", just
Orangator, that is why I tried to download the visual one.

Creationism, fundamentalism and fascism have a lot in common.
Ideas about the purity of the traditional values, gender roles, male
honor, the eternal Love, the sacred marriage, the holy ghost, me and my
dog, straight from the old testament, and the most backward reactionary
parts of the world.

I agree, this is a great program. Much better than the radio channels I
have to choose from.

The angry you men who are in for a brain transplant are guarding each
other, staring into eternety, wondering, where did my brain go????

As long as they don't disturb others with their confused ideas they can sit
there. Unfortunately they often think they are the guardians of real
people's minds too.

I forgot to mention another great thing about this program. You can combine
the soundscapes with CD tracks. Mix the rain or thunderstorm soundscape with
a nice sax track and get real mellow. Or mix the restaurant with some light
jazz and imagine that you're at a upscale night club circa the 30s.
