Hopefully the only 12 y.o to install and use Vista

Anyone know of any good free antivirus that works with Vista, AVG doesn't
work and neither does another one I've tried.

I've been without antivirus since I installed Vista ages ago, and that's not
too great.

Actually, from what I've heard, AVG Free Edition now does work with Vista as
an update went through a few days ago through Windows Update so it would
work. I use Avast! 4.7 Home Edition though and it works fine.

AVG works if you install the Windows update they offered recently
(don't know the KB article number off the top of my head, sorry).

Avast seems problematic for some though. Probably they'll work it
all out by the time vista goes Gold.

Trend Micro has a free antivirus available as well. Works good.

The trial is for one year. So, yes, they do. Other products will also show
up there.

Yes, I've removed Avast and installed AVG free edition when the patch
was available.

I run AVG free with no problems in build 5384. I havent tested it on the
newer builds yet.

I also switched to AVG when I couldn't get Avast to update automatically.
Works fine for me, too.

Trend Micro seems to be the only one that Microsoft is offering on it's
website. so far it's worked well for me

No they don't. Here's exactly what the page says:

Windows Vista Beta 2 Antivirus Partners
Windows Vista Beta 2 has now been updated with the release of Windows Vista
Release Candidate (RC) 1. RC1 is available to TechNet and MSDN subscribers,
as well as through the Windows Vista Customer Preview Program.

That's build 407, updated from 405... and it still doesn't work! Try AVG 4.5
Beta... that's OK, but you will eventually have to pay for it!

That should have read 7.5!
