Framework error message on Win2k startup

Lee M.

Just had to do a repair install of Windows 2000 Pro due to a hardware
failure. Now I get a
message at the end of the Windows 2000 start up that says "Please set
registry key HKLM/software/microsoft/NETFramework/installRoot to point to
..NET Framework install location."

I don't have NET Framework installed (that I know of). I don't see this key
in the registry either. I am up to date on updates (SP4, etc.) What causes
this and how do I
get rid of it? Everything else seems to be running as it was before the
repair install.

Thanks.

You probably DO have at least one version of the .Net framework installed.
Look under C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework and see what's there. Try
re-installing the versions (search microsoft.com) that are there.
