You may also:-
Obtain and install the Windows XP version of TweakUI.

Download it from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Open TweakUI (it's in Start -> Programs -> Powertoys for Windows XP).
Expand the Logon branch, and click Autologon.
Turn on the Log on automatically at system startup option, type your
username and password, and click Ok.

I wanted to use Wal-mart music downloads for .88 and so when I clicked to
install it as a plug in to Windows Media, MS came in and said I needed
Framework 1.1, so I okayed it, then okayed the plug in for Wal-mart.

Well, so far, everything is smooth, BUT now when I boot up, I have to click
on my name to log on and the other choice (and I am the only one using it,
so had it originally set so I didn't have to do this extra step) the other
log on is ASP.Net Machine A.

Please, is there a simple way to get rid of it without hurting the software?

Hi

To configure autologon:

Click [Start] [Run] and type
control userpasswords2
Click [OK]
The [User Accounts] Property Sheet displays.
On [Users] tab, clear the [Users must enter a user name and password
to use this computer] check box.
Click [Apply].
Enter a user name and password that should be used to logon
automatically in the dialog box that appears.
Click [OK].
Go to [Control Panel] [User Accounts] [Change the Way Users Log On and
Off].
Uncheck [Use the Welcome Screen] and [Use Fast User Switching]

or alternatively you can use Tweak UI:

Download TweakUI from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp and
when installed go to Programs>Powertoys for Windows XP>Tweak UI
- then go to Logon>Autologon.

To correct:

1. Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords2 and press ok.

2. On the Users tab, left click your user name then clear the Users Must
Enter A User Name And Password To Use This Computer check box and then click
OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the "user name
and password" for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer.

Tips:

Add Control UserPasswords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)
