Fragments in Outlook 2007?

I'm not having any performance problems with Outlook, but defrag found 719
fragments in my .pst file. Should this be a concern?

I've never had defrag report any fragments in OL before. I was advised on
the Windows XP board that my .pst file was too large (2.19GB) but it's
Unicode and I thought there was no limit on the size?

Don't multipost. Simply go back to your still active discussion you have
with DL.

I'm sorry. I thought I had to repost this question because DL did NOT answer
this question. My original post was about using the Backup tool, and I had
added this to the discussion. Since DL only responded to the questions about
the Backup, I thought he did not care to answer my questions about the
fragmented files.

You could specify that in your reply and it might get picked up. Reposting
on the same day will get you nowhere except for annoyed responses of
multiposting and people less willing to help you. If a thread is "dead" for
about 3 days it is quite safe to assume nobody will reply. It's then better
to repost with more information.

Anyway, this file fragmentation probably occurs because there is no single
"open block of space" of over 2GB available on your hard disk. How many GB
is free on your hard disk and how many percent is that of the total? It's
not a big issue but if you want to have it fully optimized you could
consider using a commercial defrag tool like DisKeeper which can defrag at
boot time.
