Fractal Explorer is a freeware fractal generator that can
produce mysterious and beautiful mathematically-based images.
Not just a tool for professionals, FE can provide hours of
entertainment for beginners and experts alike !
Fractal Explorer can render the classical polinomial fractal
sets (like the Mandelbrot-set, the Julia-set, the Newton-set
and theirs variations), 4D-complex fractals (called «quaternions»),
3D «strange» attractors, and IFS. Also, FE has many features for
creation of special effects and improvement of the pictures.
Changes in version 2.02:

[+] new MS OfficeXP-style customizable menu and toolbars;
[+] added list of the opened projects (menu «View» -> «Window list»);
[+] full support of the PNG format: save and preview images;
[+] Fractal Orbites was made as separate fractal type with FRO extension;
[+] third and fourth light sources for 3D attractors;
[+] exporting image to graymaps
(Terragen's TER and portable graymap - PGM)
[!] "Centering compensation" option moved to the "Fractal"
menu and available for IFS;
[!] settings of the toolbars will be saved in a separate
ini-file (toolbars.ini);
[!] in additional to «C» hot key (centering to mouse cursor)
added two another hotkeys: «H» for horizontal centering
and «V» for vertical centering (2D-fractals and IFS)
[!] "Duplicate fractal" option (menu "Edit") which make a
copy of the active project

apply selected size to the all opened projects
[!] the «Preferences» dialog rearranged;
[!] internal code refactoring and optimization was made;
[!] modified fractals now marked as «modified/unsaved»
(icon of child window changes the color), added confirmation
before closing of the not saved fractal
[!] minor interface enhancements
(main window, Batch rendering, Zoom animation);
[*] some minor bugs was fixed
[*] little bugs in fractal navigation;
[*] infinity color not restored
[*] attractors: light sources was invisible on the
control window
