Is anyone using this for their anti virus software? Better than some worse
than others? I don't like Norton and am currently using AVG free but that
will end mid January. So I was looking at Fprot it has a 5 license deal for
home use for less than one license of AVG. I need three licenses.

Thanks for any feed back, Rich

AVG Free will *not* end in Mid-January. Please take some time to read the
information on their site. They will discontinue v7.1 in favor of v7.5,
which was released a couple of months ago.

From the AVG website:

"GRISOFT is announcing a new version of the AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition.
This new 7.5 version with improved performance and full compatibility with
the latest Windows Vista version is available. Users that are using AVG Free
7.1 will be provided with a specific dialog, within the next few weeks, with
the opportunity to choose the right option fulfilling their needs. AVG Free
7.1 version will be discontinued on 15th of Jan 2007."

7.1 is being discontinued. 7.5 just came out.

I'm happy with the freeware Avast.

I've used F-Prot on my Windows machines for many years. It is a good,
reasonable antivirus ($30/5 seats, $50/10 seats corporate). The
interface is a bit geeky and it has its quirks. They have a trial
version; download it and try it out. If you want to buy it, uninstall
the trial version first.
