FP98: Error publishing root web - cant alloc mem

A

Andy TCH

This was prev. submitted earlier in the week:

From my findings, there wasn't any *.web found from my PC,
nor the publishing web servers.

I'm suspecting that the root web was corrupted. Is there
any tools to check and verify the root web? i've tried
check extensions, remove and add FP ext, but it didn't
work.

Any advise is appreciated.

Thank you
Andy

1. FP98 never used .web files.
2. Root web is not corrupted if you can access it with FP2000 or FP2002
3. If you are publishing to a Unix/Linux server and they have recently
upgraded to the latest version of the FP2002 extensions, then FP98 is NO
longer supported and you can now only access the FP web on the server with
FP2000 or FP2002 and the upcoming FP2003.

Thomas, yes we are publishing from windows 2k to windows
2k servers.

we have few users still using old versions, like FP98.

I suspect there's something amiss on the source root web,
is there any tool out there that i can use to rectify
this problem?

Thomas, the web content was created using a mixture
of FP98, FP2k and FP2002. any implications?

They may be hitting FP2000/2002 content that FP98 doesn't know how to
handle.

Thomas, is there any fixes that we can apply?
(e.g. upgrade to newer extensions? v5.00.2920)
we are currently using v4.0.2.5526.

thanks and regards

Upgrade the users to FP2000 at a minimum is the best solution, since FP2000
doesn't have any problem access the site.
