FP2003 on Vista problem - "Preparing to install..."

I have tried installing my copy of FP2003 on to my new Vista Business
machine, which already has Office 2007 and Expression Web installed if this
is relevant.

Whenever I try to run FP it takes an age to load because dialogue boxes keep
appearing saying "preparing to install..." and "configuring..." etc.etc.

Evenutally the program starts fine, but it's quite an annoyance. I've found
a few threads searching on Google, but no definitive answer - has anyone
experienced this and found a solution to the problem?

1. You should have installed FP 2003 first.
2. Do a custom install and do "not" install any common office features.

Thanks Steve,

Iremoved all Office applications from the machine, ran fpclean, re-installed
FP2003 (without common Office components) and the problem still exists even
before Office 2007 has been re-installed.

Not only does this happen when starting FP, but also when each individual
page from a remote web is opened.

I'm even getting asked for username and password when simply trying to
browse the remote site in IE7

Most strange.

Well, now I'm stumped.
I can't reproduce your issue in my Vista machine with FP 2003.

Can you post a link to the site?

The website issue seems to have resolved itself (for the moment at least!)
but one thing does puzzle me...

I deleted all traces of Office 2007 and FP2003 from my machine, ran FP
clean, everything. I then did an install of FP2003 without the common
components, and still the same problem - even stranger, when FP eventually
open I found that I was given the option to connect to the 2 remote webs
that I work with automatically - somehow the details had been retained on
the machine somewhere - so there must be traces of the program remaining in
Vista even after full removal/FPclean - very strange.

It's now puzzling me to the extent that I'm even considering re-installing
Vista to see if I can fix it! - please tell me I'm insane!
