FP2003 not prompting for username and password

I have been using front page for several years to work on my website on the
server. Last week instead of prompting me for the username and password as
usual it just opened a default page instead and didn't allow me to save any
of my work. I tried opening it with the edit with front page button in the
toolbar from the browser and by typing in the url in the open page box.
When I try to open other websites I am still prompted for a username and
password. My mother has admin priveliges on my website and is using FP2003
and can access it but neither of my computers here can. I have talked with
our server owner and he can't figure it out and I really need to work on my
site. He did reload the server FP extensions and said it should be working.
It works fine for him too. Just not me. Can somebody please help???I don't
know what to do anymore.
I can FTP files up with FTP explorer but It has been giving me problems with
the several forms I have on the site and I really need to just be working on
the server with frontpage.
I have no idea what happened. One day it was working fine and the next it
wasn't.
after the server owner couldn't figure it out I even went so far as to
reformat my computer and reinstall everything. Nobody could figure out why I
am the only one not being prompted for user name and passowrd so I had no
choice. I thought maybe it was a microsoft update messing me up that wouldn't
uninstall so I tried front page before I let it install any updates.
My wifes computer is hooked into the same network as mine in the house here.
It's having the exact same problems as me logging on to the website. I also
tried bypassing the router just for the heck of it and hooking my computer
directly to the modem. No luck. I have to fix this though. My website is my
living and nothing is allowing me to do the editing I need to do and nobody I
know has any answers. I'm lost! I tried it with our AV and firewalls off too.
I use Mccaffee on this computer and she has AVG and zone alarm on hers. I
can't picture different software giving us the same problems at the same time
but I tried turning them off already on both machines.
both of our machines are running windows XP, office 2003 and Frontpage 2003.

Have you contacted your web host and asked them to run server health check?

He told me he did that. He also completely checked my site looking for
problems and reinstalled the front page extensions. We are the only ones that
can't log in. Everyone else is prompted for the username and password but I
am not. That can't be a server problem can it?

Did he select to have the permissions reset?

Have you installed any update prior to this issue?

If a Windows server, does the website require NTLM authorisation? If
so, there could be something (a proxy server, usually) in the Network
between you and your host that is blocking NTLM, such as your ISP's
network.
Ask your host to switch to Basic authorisation instead (or as well),
and see if that makes a difference.

I don't know if he did or not. I'm so mad now I'm just gonna find another
server. Any suggestions?
I can't run a successful online business with tech support that tells me
they don't know what the problem is.
My computer is set to automaticaly install microsoft updates. It did install
some that night before the problems but I can't see how that would explain
why I am prompted for a username and password on other sites but not the one
I own. When I reformatted I installed frontpage before any of the updates at
all were installed though. Wouldn't that eliminate that as a possibility.
Actually I didn't reformat. I used the dell system restore to restore the
computer to the way it came out of the factory. I understand that to be about
the same as a reformat of old days. I then reinstalled everything I had on it
before.

I don't know. I've been using computers since the comodore 64 and considered
myself somewhat of an expert till I got this new one with win XP. I'm so lost
now I don't even know which way is up.
