FP2002 editor will not insert nor change the nav. links. Started after WXP
SP2 upgrade or there abouts.
When I do an insert Navigation Link Bars (any type) the " Insert Web
Component" window comes up, promptly followed by a window proclaming:

"Microsoft FrontPage has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience."

Any ideas??

Did that; no help.
Do you know how to completely uninstall FP2002 when it is part of MS Office?
I used Control Panel to X-out the FP package, turn the PC off then on
again, checked th eFP package back in it reinstalled but no difference.

Before you uninstall, Have you tried the usual repairs in the sequence below:
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp
- in FP 2003 you need to look in the super hidden folder
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir
Also clear all your IE Temp Files
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache
3) Run a Repair on IE
(see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=318378 )
4) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, MS Office and your Video card
(Windows Update and Office Update sites, plus your video card supplier site)
5) Open FP and Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins,
6) Open your FP Web/Site and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks

Thanks for all your help it is very appreciated.
I completed all your suggestions but I still get the error.
I want to make sure I made my problem as clear as possible; I get this error
whenever I try to edit the web pages locally (i.e. before I upload to the
hosting site).
As a matter of fact the published web works fine but i'm afraid to load
changes to it until I fix this problem.
Here is the summary of the error report.

AppName: frontpg.exe AppVer: 10.0.6308.0 ModName: comctl32.dll
ModVer: 5.82.2900.2180 Offset: 00061355

Thanks and God Bless
