FP2000 Reinstallation

R

Robert Hawkins

I uninstalled FrontPage 2000 some time ago. When I now try to reinstall I
get error signal 1608."Could not find any previously installed compliant
products on the machine for installing this product. It is the same machine
with the same installation disc and the same operator.
Their must be a quick answer for this administrative problem but I can't
worm anything out of Microsoft without sacrificing thirty five bucks.
Help!

Sounds like you have an upgrade CD, look for your CD for the previous
version.
IOW your FP2000 is looking for the previous qualifying installation or CD.

I dont think MS charges for installation help...i could be wrong.

It must have been an upgrade version, which requires a full version of a
previous edition of FrontPage to qualify for installation.
