FP2000 Not Remembering Username/Passwords for saved Webs

T

Tony

Win98SE with 576M RAM, IE6 and Office 2000, FP2000 occasionally forgets the
username/password for the web I'm opening when selecting Open Web..., so I
have to enter it manually.

When I write "occasionally", I mean sometimes it gives me the prompt with
username/password, sometimes it doesn't and asks for it, for the same web.
The behavior can change if I close FP and then open it again.

Let me tell you, when I'm in a hurry, it's a real pain - especially with 15
webs to take care of.

HELP! (thanks!)

Tony

Try adding the url to the list of trusted sites in Internet Explorer.

When you use the Open Web dialog, are you double-clicking the URL to the site you want to open?

Yes, that is the only time that the saved login info is available for the site you want to open.

When I publish, I always open the live/remote site first by double-clicking, then I don't have to
enter the login info when I publish.

I've double-clicked and sometimes I'm still prompted for username/password!

There are just some servers/accounts where you will always have to type in the login info. I have 2
accounts out of 30 that I have to do this on, all on the same web host
