FP won't publish

Iv'e used FP 2002 for several years and uploaded with the "publish web". When
publishing, my name and password come up as usual, then a pop-up saying
"server can not complete request... page not found...contact sevice
provider..." Unlike publishing before, no files appear in the split screen
for either my site on the hard drive OR the existing site on the server and
the actual "Publish" button is greyed out. The "publish to" location is
correct. I can upload changes using "ftp" to the server fine but not with the
"publish" feature. I called the service provider several times and they
checked to see if connections and extentions are working fine. I have also
reinstalled FP 2002. I have tried uploading several other of my web sites and
the same message appears. I may have changed some default publishing
settings, but can't find anything unusual under "properties". How do I get
back the "publish web" feature?

Hi there,

In same case there may be no of issues, like FPSE installed on server may
not correct or client FP installed may have some problem.
lets consider first option
* FPSE installed on same server may not work properly.
In that case u need to find some different web host who provides FPSE
try 100webspace.com, its a free web hosting service on internet
simply register there. they will give u some space on internet.
Go ahead and try to publish your website on same location.

* FP is not working fine
In that case you need to publish your web on same computer
Create a folder on same computer.
In Destination please give same folder name
Try to publish web.
If it works properly then we are sure that your FP is working fine.

Try this and let me know results.

Hi Sarvesh:
Thanks for your reply to my problem with FrontPage not uploading. I set up a
website account at 100 Webspace.com but could not upload to it or my regular
server that I have used for 3 years with extentions. A message said, " folder
moved, deleated or network problems preventing connection to the server." I
also tried to upload to my new 100 Webspace.com site and my old Shaw.ca
server in "live mode" via ftp and the same message came up.
I then set up a folder on my hard drive and was able to publish the whole
site to this folder successfully. So I assume form your message that that
FrontPage is working properly? If so, where is the problem and how do I go
about getting it fixed? Is it the extentions? Do I, or the server company
need to deleate and re-install them?
Your advice has been so helpful and I feel I am finally getting to solve the
FP problem.
Here is a link to my site I am trying to upload to.
Thank you so much!

Remember to open the Web/Site first.
then the Publish option on File menu will be available.

Since you are publishing via FTP, under your IE connection settings, enable Passive FTP mode and see
if that helps.

Under internet options the only thing I can find is "enable viewing of
folders in ftp sites. Is this what you mean or where do I find "enable
passive ftp"? thanks .....Alan
