I'm not sure if this is a FP problem, or a Windows XP
problem. I've had FP2002 on my desktop for a couple years.
In December I got a laptop and installed the same copy on
it (and activated it). A month later I tried to install it
on a 2nd laptop that I own. When I went to activate it, I
learned that I'm limited to installing on 1 desktop and 1
laptop. Ok, that's fine.
Now, 3 months later, I went to use FP on my laptop, and
it's completely gone from my system. I got out the
original disk and tried to install it again. It went
through the motions of "reinstalling" (it obviously
realized that FP had been installed on the machine
before), and announced that reinstallation was complete.
However, it is still not on my machine, anywhere. I tried
again with the same results.
Anyone got any ideas? I checked the Windows XP support
FAQ, and it does indeed say that you can have the product
on one desktop and one laptop, and it also says that
products can't be "de-activated" using their activation
program. However, I'm slightly paranoid that somehow
Microsoft has set a time bomb in my computer to knock out
programs it doesn't think I should have.![Smile :) :)](/styles/default/custom/smilies/smile.gif)
