FP 2003 Can't fine XP Pro Web Server

When I try and use FP 2003 to create a website on my PC running XP Pro, with
IIS installed I see http://<--nohost-->/mysite as the site.

I try typing http://homexp1/test and get the message that say
Could not find server at "homexp1" please check the server is valid and
settings are correct?

If I type http://homexp1 on the IE address line it takes me to my default
page.

Any ideas why it can't create the new sub site?
